Getting Started - Art2000 OS3 Software Updates/Release notes

As with everything do not mend something which is not broken, thus only upgrade when there is a need to do so. Keep enough time to spare between the upgrading and the show start ( typically it takes 5 minutes to upgrade ), ideally keep a day or more between upgrading and needing the dimmers. What you need: PC running Windows 95, 98, ME with a free serial port (Win 3.11/ NT/ 2000/ XP not supported) The ART2000 Upgrade program Manuals for the upgrade and operation of the dimmer ART download cable. This cable can be bought from Avolites under part number 1808-0016  or you can make one yourself.

How to make a download Cable:

PARTS: 1 off XLR 5 pin female 1 off 9 pin D-type female inline connector up to 3 m of shielded 3 core or 5 core cable (Dmx cable is usually the best, do NOT use microphone cable) Wire the connectors according to diagram below XLR D9 Signal 1 5 Gnd 2 2 dim Tx 4 3 dim Rx All Other pins are not connected
