Save and Load show to USB Memory Stick

Save and load your shows to a USB memory stick. Keeps a history of all your saves to allow you to load a previous version of the show. To save the show use the standard Disk menu but when prompted to either select the internal memory stick or a memory stick you have connected to the external USB port. When loading a show use the normal disk menu but when prompted select the correct USB stick and the version of the show you wish to load. The latest version is always listed at the top of the list.

Internal Personality Library

All the personalities can now be stored internally and a patching menu lists the fixtures by Manufacturer and full fixture name.

USB Visualiser Connection

Using the USB device port on the rear of the console you can connect the Pearl 2008 to a standard PC. The USB connection allows you to display and auto-patch the Avolites Visualiser. You must have the Avolites 2004 USB Controller running on your PC and have installed the correct USB drivers. You will also have needed to install the VIsualiser software. Once this is done an avolites Logo will appear in your XP system tray. This icon will show a cross when the console is not connected and a USB logo if it is connected. Now hold down the Shift key on the console and select "Show Vis". The Visualiser will open on the connected PC and patch automatically. The DMX is sent over the USB connection and so you will see the lights changing as you adjusty them on the console.

System Information Menu

A new System information menu can be found when the key is switched to Service. This provides information about the Console Serial Number, Attached Memory and the USB Memory Stick ports.

Patching Screen only Displays fixture types a-o

Pearl 2004 v 1.1 The patching screen on the VDU would only display fixture types up to letter o. Download the installer from our http://www.avolitesdownload.com/Downloads/Pearl2008.stm Web site. Run the installer on a PC which will extract the files you need to a USB stick. Place the USB stick in your console and then follow the instructions in the manual for upgrading the AVOS. Once this is complete, you will also need to upgrade the main application using the burn new program option from the AVOS menu. Removed Import Chase feature from Disk Menu

The Import Chase feature has been removed.

Loading show verifies the show data is not corrupt

When a show file is loaded into the console, a verification process is used to check that the show data has not been corrupted in any way. If a problem is found, the user will be notified on the LCD.

Key combination to enter AVOS on boot changed

The key combination to enter the AVOS on boot has not changed but one addition has been made. The combination is as follows Preset Adds 21 and 30 while not 24.

Boots with or without HPI present

It is now possible to start up the console whether or not the HPI is found. Note: The HPI board is an interface board which makes it possible to use a USB memory stick

Stability of USB functions improved

Pearl 2008 v 1.0 Some USB hardware had problems which would cause it to be unstable and result in errors when transfering data to and from a USB stick. Changes to the software have resulted in greatly improved reliablility and tests showed no problems with the new software.

Cursor Perminantly Visible with new LCD Screen Controller Chips

Pearl 2008 v 1.0 A change in LCD screen controller chip caused the cursor to be always visible. This new software contains changes to hide the cursor with all Pearl LCD controllers.
